Blood & Water is a South African series. The plot revolves around, Puleng, a high school girl whose sister has been kidnapped as part of a human trafficking network many years ago. The first season was released on Netflix on May 20, 2020.
On 15 June 2020, it was announced that Blood & Water was renewed for a second season. The second season was released on September 24, 2021.[1]
On April 6, 2022, Netflix's South African Instagram page shared a post announcing that "Mzansi's coolest kids are back!," adding, "#BloodAndWater season 3 is currently in production."[2] The third season was released on November 25, 2022. Season 4 was released on March 1, 2024.
Synopsis[]
Set in the surroundings of Parkhurst College, the prestigious inner-city school for elite scholars and academic overachievers. Blood & Water follows the exploits of 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo, as she engineers her transfer to the school to investigate the 17-year-old cold case of the abducted-at-birth older sister she's never met.

- The series was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.
- Parkhurst College isn't actually a real institution, so most of the filming took place at the University of Cape Town and around the city.
- English is basically the only language spoken in Blood & Water.
